Hello Texas!

We had a fun trip, stopping for just one night in New Orleans. Grabbed a bite to eat at the Rendezvous on Bourbon Street and walked down to  Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop which was packed so we only stayed for a few minutes. We aren't big party animals and didn't want to spend too much money so one night was enough, this time. There are many things I'd like to do there next time like go on a ghost tour.

On the road with the trailer we always keep in mind which restaurants usually have room to park. We saw a sign that read "Crawfish Town USA, RV parking..." great! I'd never seen a restaurant with actual parking spaces for RVs! That parking will cost you though. Todd had an expensive cheeseburger that didn't even come with fries and I had a cup of jambalaya‎ (basically flavored rice) for $7. Of course we still enjoyed going because we were traveling again and the main attraction is the view through the Suburban's windows.

We got to our destination, Baytown, Texas after dark. A couple of days off to get settled in then time to get to work. We really love it here. Baytown has everything we want exaggerated in our minds because Selma had nothing but one Walmart and a high crime rate. Baytown is booming! There is a lot of hiring going on and you can rent a luxury apartment for what our run down apartment cost in Hendersonville, TN. Not that we'll be renting an apartment, just saying the cost of living is good here.

Our trainers are so cool. We're working on our own now but they're staying in town until Friday. We'll keep in touch. :-)

Galveston is gorgeous but we were only there once briefly so far. We'll take pictures next time. We haven't been to downtown Houston yet but we'll get there.

Hope everyone is keeping warm out there! Tractor Supply and The Flying J are out of propane here but Todd found some this morning at U-Haul for $3.69 per gallon, ouch, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
