Trip To Our New Temporary City

Though we like Baytown, Texas so much we didn't like working together. The company understood and without a hiccup started looking for our new place - either Salt Lake City, UT or Shreveport, LA where T would work alone again. My replacement came down from Dallas to finish the job in east Houston with Todd. Thanks Pat!

Just over a week ago we "re-homed" Jesse. We found out we'd have a long trip to Utah and after that we'll be traveling a lot more. Jesse is the best puppy I've ever seen. He's energetic and super social, we aren't and knew he wouldn't live up to his potential traveling all the time and just being around us. We turned down the first couple and there was another lady who wanted him but another couple called first - his new parents. They're wonderful and Jesse loved them right away. I won't go into detail about all the adorable things Jesse did. We love him enough to let him go to a better life for him. I'd forgotten what it was like to be heartbroken. Todd is too but it's for the best.

Last Monday Todd traded in the Suburban for a Ford F250 as the extensive traveling would be a little too much for the Suburban. T says he can't even tell the camper is there with this truck. We don't get blown around by speeding eighteen wheelers passing in the opposite direction anymore either.

Wednesday it was time to hook & book. The first night we stayed in northern Texas, then a night in Albuquerque, NM, then Cortez, CO. We think these places are really cool! So is Moab, UT,  though we didn't stay. We wanted to stop at the four corners but the park was closed when we were near. It closes at five this time of year.

We arrived at our new temporary home city Saturday night and after 1,650 miles of road  we were tired! It was a pretty good trip except the broken wall side of the camper's seal came loose (flappin' in the wind) and we're still missing Jesse. Todd pulled over, tightened screws and added some tape to seriously cracked lower body on the trailer.

Yesterday it snowed all afternoon but we didn't mind, it was beautiful.

One Year Fulltiming

Hooray! We actually moved into the travel trailer on March 13, 2013. We've heard people say it takes at least a year to get use to it. I think we're used to it but we do want a bigger 5th wheel.

End world's shortest post. ;)
